Is progress still progress?
Before I let another week go on, I wanted to take a moment and thank the incredibly talented Linda from Calling It Home for orchestrating the entire One Room Challenge event! For more information click here ORC
The One Room Challenge™, currently in its fourteenth season, is a biannual event every April and October. Each round, twenty design bloggers and hundreds of guest participants (like me) take the challenge and transform a space. Here is more information on the ORC
Do you ever feel like your wheels are spinning but you’re going nowhere?! That’s how this week was for me. (The sign below says “this is not the fun part”) This week the process seemed way too slow!
I need to give myself some slack and remember that this was a hallway with a closet, and now it’s a closed in room….If you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about and you haven’t seen the before images of this room start Here week 1
Or, just continue reading! This is the before.
I’ve realized that I do not like the grit of the construction process. I just want to hurry and get to the pretty stuff that makes you feel like progress is happening. For instance, drama with paint or wallpaper being on the wall. It looks like you’ve done so much but you’ve only done a small amount of work. That being said, it does not look like we achieved much this week. We did finish building the wall, placed the door and started doing layers of drywall mud and sanding. Lots and lots of sanding….However we are finally moving forward! I was able to do primer and paint yesterday! I feel so much better about my timeline and being able to finish my office on time! I’m so relieved!
This is my to do list for this week!
-Buy all remaining larger items not already purchased for the office
– Place lower cabinet
Hopefully when you come back next week this room will start looking cute!
Thank you so much for stopping by and Have a fabulous day!
